“We were a little nervous about the property knowing full-well that it is not a modern build. We are a small company (11 colleagues) ranging from early 20s to early 30s. The house was plenty comfortable for us. We went during November, so nighttime temperatures were mild enough to sleep comfortably with windows and fans (no AC). Hanalei is a very lush area, so mosquitoes and bugs were expected. This was a little bit of an adjustment at first, but after 24-48 hours everybody was comfortable and we made sure to keep doors closed at night. The best part about this place are the many wrap around lanais. They really make you feel like you're immersed in the landscape. It's also on a large plot of land, so you don't see other houses. And the beach access is incredible. I wouldn't hesitate to book this again if I were planning this retreat, knowing what I know now! Chef Cindy, recommend by the hosts, was also a delight!”

“We had the pleasure of spending a week at Kalihiwai Beach House in August 2024. It was such a magical holiday with our boys. The Beach House is just over the road from the picturesque Kalihiwai Beach, which joins the lagoon at the entrance to the Kalihiwai River. Our boys would have stayed at the beach and lagoon all day! They had so much fun bodysurfing, jumping into the lagoon with the tree ropes and exploring among the rockpools. The Beach House is fitted out perfectly. It has the quintessential Hawaiian holiday vibe and has everything you might need in the bed/bathrooms, kitchen, dining/tv rooms, as well as a small library in case you forgot to bring a book to read on your holiday! It also has all of the river and beach toys that you would need such as standup paddle boards, kayaks, boogie boards, chairs, umbrella, reef shoes, etc. We did a few sunrise paddles up the river, which is beautiful, and you will need reef shoes if you paddle to the secret waterfall towards the end of the river, which we did and it was amazing. There are some goats that live over the road from the Beach House that our boys fell in love with and were very sad to say goodbye to. Kauai as a whole is magical, so lush and vibrant and is so fun and easy to beach hop around the island. The beaches are stunning and the water is perfect. Hanalei Bay's mountainous backdrop is absolutely breathtaking. We cannot wait to go back to Kalihiwai Beach House!!”

Also everything was clean, the room A/c worked well, there were so many beach toys and kayaks and SUPs, chairs, coolers, shades. So many things. We got asked daily where we rented the kayaks from. They are perfect along with the SUPs to go up the river and walk to the waterfall. Totally worth it. They also had a fold up crib in the closet. We could have probably left a whole suitcase full of stuff we brought that they already had there. I would 100% recommend the house.”

It was located in hidden quiet cove, tucked away from the fast paced world around. It has a huge lush green lawn. The homes exterior is perfectly kept. Inside was a gorgeous well equipped home that could easily sleep six. The master bedroom was amazing and serene, with beautiful white linens and very very comfortable bed.
